You can build your own private practice.

Yes, even if you ‘only’ have a BSW or have just recently finished your MSW. In this course, you’ll learn about scope of practice and what is required of you to properly safeguard your practice whilst playing with your creativity.

Yup, even if you plan on starting as part-time. This program gives checklists and all the tools you need to get started whether you are meeting with one client a month or jumping into it full-time. It is also okay if you are just gathering info now so you can launch in a year+ from now.

And yessss, you can do this at any financial approach you want. Whether you get a grant or loan, or use small parts of your savings, this course will teach you how to save on costs and which areas you should really invest in.

  • Yes! This course will give you a completion certificate that you can retain for your records. Each section can take about 2hrs of self-directed work so the completion certificate states this is a 12hr course which is equal to 12 credits.

    In 2026, ACSW updated their competency program where credits are no longer categorized by A/B/C type credits.

    Rather, now RSWs are required to document professional learning in a portfolio and establish an annual professional development plan where they achieve 40credits in the calendar year that fall under Continuing Education (that is what Branching Out counts towards) or Professional Engagement

  • This course has a mixture of audio/visual. Each section has a audio portion you can listen to while reading the transcript. A few sections have videos and all sections give you access to a fillable google doc for easy reflections (recommended you work from a computer)

  • At this time, once you sign-up you will not lose access to any current or future material (I guess that means you get lifetime access?).

    That being said, if the program gets moved to a different platform that might change. There is currently no plans to move the program though. So feel free to reference back to it as often as you need to!
