Hello and welcome to the podcast space!

I’m Hannah, a diploma student of social work with Northern Lakes College and a practicum student with Unscripted Co.

Under Tia’s supervision, this practicum has provided me with the opportunity to explore a topic that I’m interested in. I chose to focus on parents of girls age 12-15 specifically looking at self-esteem and family relationships. These family relationships play a vital role in the development of girls, and so I wanted to explore this further.

By speaking with parents what it’s like raising tween and teen daughters today, I hope these podcasts provide a space for parents to remember they’re not alone in this journey.

I touch on this article during the podcast. This is a great read and I highly recommend taking some time with this one.

I touch on gender dysphoria briefly in the podcast. To learn more, click here:

This is an excellent document that touches on what happens during puberty for both girls and boys. NOTE: this document is from 2015, so while it has excellent information about puberty, the period products section should be expanded to include period panties and cups/disks which are not discussed here.

This is a shorter guide to early puberty in girls. Also a good read!
